WHEAT SHEERA Recipe
Ingredients:
• 259 grams cracked wheat;
• 250 grams grated jaggery;
• ¼ scraped coconut;
• 1 tsp poppy seeds;
• 1 tsp. Cardamom seeds;
• ½ tsp essence of saffron or rose;
• 25 grams each of blanched and sliced almonds; pistachio nuts,
cashewnuts and raisins;
• Ghee.
Method:
1. Fry the nuts and raisins
2. Heat 6 tblsps. Ghee and fry the wheat to a golden colour.
3. Dissolve jaggery in 2 glasses of water and strain and add to the fried
wheat.
4. Put in cardamoms, bring to boil, reduce heat and cook till the wheat
is tender and completely dry.
5. When done the grains should be separate and not mushy or sticking together.
6. Mix in poppy seed, essence, and coconut and remove from fire.
7. Serve decorated with nuts and raisins.
