SPECIAL GAJHIA How to Prepare -Make -Cook ?
SPECIAL GAJHIA Recipe
Ingredients:
• 4 cups flour,
• Pinch of baking powder,
• 2 tblsps. Shabjeera
• 1 kilo sugar,
• 1 tblsp. Of rose essence,
• A handful of dried rose petals;
• Ghee.
Method:
1. Mix together flour, baking powder and shabjeera.
2. Run in 1 cup melted ghee, then add enough water to form quite a stiff
dough.
3. Divide the dough into 3 portions, then roll out each portion about
one-fourth inch thick.
4. Cut into long strips and each strip into small diamonds.
5. Put 1 glass water in sugar and prepare a thick syrup.
6. Remove from fire and put in the essence and keep it warm.
7. Deep fry a few pieces of diamonds at a time over a slow fire till a
nice almond colour, drain and toss into the syrup.
8. After 10 minutes, remove from the syrup and pour the remaining syrup
over the top.
9. When the syrup beings to dry, stick petals on each gajhia and set aside
till the syrup leaves hard white even sugary coating on the surface of
each gajhia.
10. Store in an airtight tin.
