SHAHI TUKRE How to Prepare
SHAHI TUKRE Recipe
Ingredients:
• 6 slices bread;
• 1 litre milk,
• 200 grams sugar,
• ½ tsp. Cardamom powder,
• ¼ tsp. Grared nutmeg;
• ½ tsp. Of rose essence;
• 50 grams mixed sliced and fried nuts of your choice;
• 25 grams fried raisins;
• handful of rose petals;
• 100 grams thick cream or khoya
• ghee.
Method:
1. Trim and cut the slices of bread into neat little squares.
2. Deep fry to a golden colour and drain.
3. Heat milk and sugar together in a wide pan, when the mixture turns
into a syrup, add the spices and place the bread side by side into the
pan.
4. Cook over a slow fire till all the milk is absorbed by the bread.
5. Spread cream over the bread, sprinkle essence, perals and nuts on top
and serve chilled.
