DAL HALWA How to Prepare

DAL HALWA Recipe

Ingredients:

• 500 grams each of Bengal gram dal and sugar,
• 250 grams ghee;
• 100 grams mixed sliced nuts of your choice,
• 1 tsp cardamom seeds;
• Silver warq.


Method:

1. Soak the dal in water for a few hours, drain and grind it to a coarse paste.
2. Put 2 cups water in sugar and prepare a thick syrup.
3. Heat ghee and fry the dal to a golden colour.
4. Put in the rest of the above ingredients and keep on stirring till the mixture leaves the sides of the vessel.
5. Put in a greased thali and level the surface.
6. Cover with warq and cut into pieces when cold.
7. Store in an airtight container.
