DABHUL-KA-MITHA Recipe
Ingredients:
• 6 slices bread, trimmed;
• tinned apricot juice;
• 2 cups thick cream;
• 1 cup fresh dried or canned apricots stewed in a thick syrup to
jam-like consistency;
• 50 grams mixed sliced nuts of your choice;
• ghee.
Method:
1. Deep fry the bread to a golden colour.
2. Drain
3. Pour over each slice enough juice to moisten it, but not to soak it.
4. Place the slices in single even layer in a large saucepan.
5. Spread each slice with stewed fruit.
6. Simmer over a gentle fire until all the syrup has been absorbed by
the bread.
7. Remove from fire and serve in individual plates spread thickly with
cream and decorate with nuts.
8. Instead of apricots you can use any other fruit of your choice.
